Dynamic Load Distribution System

The technology of dampening and absorbing shock loads using a uniquely formulated dampener cylinder inside a rope involves integrating a mechanism that absorbs and dissipates energy during dynamic loads, such as sudden jerks that can occur when a boat shifts due to wind, waves, or current.

Purpose


  • Shock Absorption: The primary function of the Dynamic Load Distribution Core (DLDC) is to dampen the forces acting on the boat. It helps to protect both the vessel and the equipment from the stresses caused by abrupt movements.

Mechanism of Action


  • Energy Absorption: The dampener compresses when a shock load is applied (like when the boat shifts and jerks suddenly). This compression absorbs part of the energy, reducing the force transmitted through the rope.
  • Dissipation of Energy: The dampener then dissipates this energy through internal friction and material deformation, which reduces the peak loads that the rope experiences.

Material Composition


  • Dynamic Load Distribution Core (DLDC): The dampener is made of viscoelastic materials that can deform under stress, effectively absorbing energy. This material has properties that allow it to dissipate kinetic energy when deformed. The elasticity allows it to stretch and compress when loads are applied. 
  • Rope Structure: Our double-braided rope is constructed by a SilkDura 48-plait outer jacket paired with a 12-strand SilkDura inner core. SilkDura fibers are carefully designed and constructed from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene. It offers lightweight, high-strength fiber rope with exceptional durability and resistance to abrasion, UV rays, and chemicals. It is known for its remarkable strength-to-weight ratio. SilkDura rope is significantly stronger than steel at a fraction of the weight, making it ideal for applications in the marine industry. Its low stretch and high tensile strength ensure reliable performance under heavy loads, while its buoyancy allows it to float on water, enhancing its usability in marine environment. These characteristics make SilkDura rope a preferred choice for tasks like sailing and hoisting, where safety and performance are paramount.
  • Incorporation of DLDC and SilkDura Rope: The Dynamic Load Distribution Core is integrated into the rope’s core construction. This design helps maintain the rope’s strength while adding shock-absorbing capabilities. SilkDura’s nonstretch and high load-capable characteristics combined with DLDCore technology are perfect for complete shock load elimination.
